“Mayweather-Pacquiao Rematch Set for Historic Vegas Fight”

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to make history with a rematch at The Las Vegas Sphere in September, marking the first professional boxing event at this venue. The two boxing legends previously faced off in 2015 in what was dubbed the ‘Fight of the Century,’ with Mayweather emerging as the victor. Despite both fighters retiring, Netflix has now confirmed the highly anticipated Mayweather Pacquiao II match scheduled for September 19.

The upcoming rematch between Mayweather and Pacquiao is expected to shatter records, potentially becoming one of the most lucrative bouts in boxing history. Their previous encounter at the MGM Grand Garden Arena generated massive pay-per-view buys and set a record gate. Mayweather earned $250 million while Pacquiao took home $150 million from their initial fight.

Mayweather, with an undefeated 50-0 record, will defend his perfect streak in this rematch, set to be officially sanctioned. Pacquiao expressed his excitement for the rematch, stating that fans deserve this event and emphasizing the global live streaming aspect via Netflix. He aims to hand Mayweather his first professional loss and bring pride to the Philippines.

Mayweather, confident in his abilities, expressed certainty in repeating his victory over Pacquiao. Both fighters are expected to have warm-up bouts before the rematch, with Pacquiao scheduled to face Ruslan Provodnikov and Mayweather likely to fight Mike Tyson in the coming weeks.

This historic boxing event will headline at The Sphere, being the first of its kind at the venue and only the second sports event after UFC 306 in September 2024.
