“Mullins Leads Field in 2026 Randox Grand National”

The 2026 Randox Grand National at Aintree has finalized its field with a full line-up of 34 horses, the maximum allowed. The prestigious £1 million race is scheduled for Saturday and will be broadcast live on ITV.

Leading the race is I Am Maximus, owned by JP McManus and trained by Willie Mullins, the 2024 race winner who finished as runner-up last year. A notable contender is stablemate Nick Rockett, who secured a Mullins 1-2-3 victory in the previous edition alongside Grangeclare West in third place. Mullins aims to match the record of the most successful Grand National trainers if he secures a fourth win.

Paul Townend is expected to ride I Am Maximus, while amateur jockey Patrick Mullins will continue his partnership with Nick Rockett. Notable declarations include Grangeclare West, Panic Attack trained by Dan Skelton, and Iroko and Jagwar, both owned by McManus and trained by Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero.

Willie Mullins has declared all his nine horses for the race, including a surprise entry of Spillane’s Tower, set to run in the Aintree Bowl on Thursday.

The event is set for 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2026, featuring a strong field of contenders vying for the prestigious title. Reserves are on standby to fill in any vacant spots before the final declaration deadline.
