“NATO Jets Mobilized as Russia Escalates Assault on Ukraine”

NATO jets and an early alert plane were dispatched over eastern Europe today in response to Russia’s intensified assault on Ukraine. The attack coincided with renewed US negotiations with Moscow and Kiev to broker peace. Russia’s missile and drone strikes in Ukraine resulted in 46 casualties, including children, in Kharkiv.

In Ternopil, multiple missile and drone attacks, including a strike on a residential building, caused casualties and fatalities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported nine deaths and numerous injuries in Ternopil, emphasizing the urgent need for defensive weaponry and support to protect civilian lives.

NATO planes were mobilized in Romania due to Russian strikes near allied borders, with German and Romanian aircraft responding to the escalating situation. Concerns arose over a Russian drone breaching Romanian airspace, prompting heightened alert levels and defensive measures.

Separately, Polish armed forces took precautionary measures following Russian attacks on Ukrainian targets, deploying fighter pairs and an early warning aircraft to safeguard airspace near threatened regions. NATO surveillance aircraft monitored Russian activities over Ukrainian airspace.

In response to the escalating conflict, Ukraine fired US-supplied missiles at a Russian target, raising doubts over Moscow’s claims of intercepting them. The strikes coincided with Zelensky’s visit to Ankara for discussions with US special envoy Steve Witkoff, aiming to advance peace negotiations between Russia and the US.

The devastating attacks, including deliberate strikes on civilian areas, were condemned by Ukrainian officials as war crimes. Critical infrastructure, including power plants and residential buildings, were targeted, leading to casualties and widespread destruction. The international community reiterated the need for concrete actions to halt the aggression and protect civilian lives.

Ukraine also conducted retaliatory strikes on Russian facilities, including an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region, and disrupted airports near Putin’s residence. The conflict escalated in Russian-occupied territories, leaving hundreds of thousands without power and prompting emergency measures in response to Ukrainian attacks.
