“New Alex Scott on the Rise in Premier League”

Alex Scott is rapidly gaining recognition in the Premier League. Despite this, the Bournemouth midfielder will not be the most prominent England celebrity bearing the name, even if he debuts fully against Serbia on Thursday. He also won’t be the most successful international star in his family.

The other Alex Scott, who earned 140 caps for England, hosts Football Focus, and is set to appear on a show Down Under, shares the same name. Despite a 19-year age gap, social media users still sometimes confuse the two.

“I’ve done well getting called up and going on I’m A Celebrity at the same time!” remarked Scott, 22, in response to the misconceptions. He acknowledged the accomplishments of the female footballer Alex Scott and expressed admiration for her achievements for the country in an England shirt.

His step-sister Maya Le Tissier, the captain of Manchester United who clinched the UEFA Women’s Championships this summer, provided advice before his first full call-up. Drawing inspiration from her success, Scott aims to showcase his abilities if given the chance to play for the country.

Born in 2003, Scott missed witnessing the first two Channel Islanders to represent England, such as Matt Le Tissier and Graeme Le Saux. Despite this, he has embarked on a journey to become a professional footballer, starting from humble beginnings playing for Guernsey FC and progressing to teams like Bristol City and Bournemouth.

With a determination similar to that of his predecessors, Scott is prepared to demonstrate his skills and potential to manager Thomas Tuchel during his first full call-up. He hopes to make a significant impact and establish himself as a notable figure in English football.
