“Nine Health Benefits of Hot Baths: Expert Advice”

Taking a relaxing hot bath is a favorite activity for many, especially when the weather turns chilly. According to a medical expert, there are nine notable health benefits associated with indulging in hot baths, such as enhancing sleep quality, lowering the risk of heart disease, and improving mood.

Dr. Gift Idahosa, known as @drgiftidahosa1 on TikTok, regularly shares wellness advice with her substantial following of 330,000. A recent video she posted discussing the advantages of hot baths resonated with viewers, receiving numerous likes. In the video, she highlighted the nine benefits of soaking in hot water.

She listed the benefits as follows:

To support her claims, Harvard Health referred to research indicating that individuals who bathed almost daily had a 28% reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and a 26% lower stroke risk compared to those who bathed less than twice weekly. Healthline also supports the idea that hot baths can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, improve mood, enhance sleep quality, and boost blood circulation to the skin.

Moreover, Mayo Clinic recommends using heat therapy to relieve tight neck and shoulder muscles, as muscle tension can trigger tension-type headaches.

In another development, Dr. Deborah Lee from Dr. Fox Pharmacy, in collaboration with bathroom supplier Wholesale Domestic, provided expert advice on achieving the perfect bath for maximum relaxation and health benefits. Dr. Lee suggested that bath temperatures should ideally range between 36°C and 40°C.

However, she advised that bathing only twice a week is optimal, as excessive washing can strip natural oils and aggravate skin conditions.
