An 18-year-old nursery worker, Thomas Waller, has been sentenced for committing a disturbing sexual assault on a three-year-old boy in a school restroom. Waller, a newly qualified nursery worker, targeted his young victims at the school where he was employed. Court proceedings revealed that he had established a connection with one three-year-old child over Paw Patrol before carrying out the sexual assault in the restroom.
The mother of the child described Waller as a “very dangerous individual” and expressed her shock and fear over his actions. She recounted how her son disclosed the abuse following the incident, using age-appropriate language to explain what had happened at nursery. The mother, who chose to remain anonymous, immediately reported the incident to the nursery, leading to Waller’s arrest by the police later that same day.
Waller, hailing from Surrey, was convicted at Staines Magistrates Court of rape, incitement of a child to engage in sexual activity, and the possession of indecent images of children. The severity of his crimes necessitated a sentencing at the crown court, with a district judge indicating that Waller could face a substantial prison term of nearly 20 years for his heinous acts against young children.
Following the trial, Waller was sentenced to 10 years in jail for the rape and sexual abuse of children as young as three. The sentencing took place at Guildford Crown Court, where Waller was informed of the gravity of his offenses committed in 2024. Prosecutors emphasized the severity of the crimes, stating that they were too serious for the youth court to handle and that if Waller had been an adult, he could have faced a sentence of up to 13 years.
After his sentencing, Waller encountered journalists outside the court, but he remained uncooperative and declined to make any comments. Cameras captured his stoic demeanor as he walked alongside his mother, brushing past reporters and repeatedly refusing to engage with questions about his actions. He maintained a “no comment” stance even when asked if he had anything to say to the parents of his victims.
