Tens of thousands of music enthusiasts gathered at Great Park in Irvine, California, last weekend to enjoy performances by their favorite artists at a groundbreaking event supporting women’s health, reproductive rights, and the fight against gender-based violence.
The Daisy Chain Fields charity festival, organized by pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo, drew inspiration from the iconic Lilith Fair of the 1990s and featured an all-female lineup. The event showcased a mix of established and emerging stars, including queer pop artist Chappell Roan, rapper Doechii, punk rock bands like Bikini Kill and Garbage, and more.
Before the festival kicked off, Rodrigo proudly announced that they had raised $10 million for the event’s ten nonprofit partners, such as Planned Parenthood, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, and Black Mamas Matter Alliance. This donation was generously matched by Melinda French Gates, doubling the total funds to $20 million.
