“Ottawa’s Preston Hardware Hit by Third Shooting This Year”

In Ottawa’s Little Italy neighborhood, a hardware store has been affected by three shooting incidents this year, with the most recent one occurring last week, as confirmed by Ottawa police. The most recent shooting incident near Preston Hardware is believed to have happened overnight between August 28 and August 29, according to a statement released by the Ottawa Police Service on Friday. Evidence of gunfire was discovered outside the store on August 29, near the intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue. Although shots were believed to have been fired at the business, no injuries were reported. The police reported that the other two shooting incidents occurred on March 16 and July 9 but did not disclose further details such as whether the shootings occurred inside or outside the store, if anyone was injured, or if the store sustained any damage. CBC has contacted Preston Hardware for a statement and reached out to OPS for additional information. The guns and gangs unit of the police force is currently investigating the incidents and seeking tips from the public, including any video footage of suspicious activities in the vicinity.
