“Penguins Player Ben Kindel Hospitalized After In-Flight Emergency”

Pittsburgh Penguins player Ben Kindel is under observation at a hospital in Salt Lake City following a medical incident on the team’s return flight from a four-game journey. The 19-year-old forward, hailing from Coquitlam, B.C., experienced an undisclosed health complication shortly after the departure of the team’s plane from Salt Lake City airport on Tuesday. The aircraft had to turn back, and Kindel received immediate medical attention from the team’s medical personnel while en route. Subsequently, he was transferred by ambulance to the University of Utah hospital. The Penguins confirmed that Kindel was conscious, responsive, and in a stable condition. Kindel, currently in his second season with the Penguins after being drafted 11th overall in 2025, has recorded two goals and two assists in nine games. Notably, he played nearly 19 minutes in a recent match against Utah, which ended in a 5-4 defeat.
