A man from Quebec has been arrested on charges of allegedly making a bomb threat at the Wabush Airport in Labrador. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reported that authorities removed the man from a plane on Sunday, August 30. Following the evacuation and search of the airport, law enforcement determined that the threat was not credible.
The 30-year-old individual is facing charges of public mischief, uttering threats, causing a disturbance, and breaching probation. Wabush Airport is owned and operated by Transport Canada.
In response to inquiries from CBC News, Transport Canada acknowledged a security incident at the airport but refrained from disclosing specific details that had been circulating on social media.
