An error in the computer system led to the inadvertent sending of file closure notifications to 746 applicants of Quebec’s Skilled Worker Selection Program on Saturday. The program is designed for individuals seeking permanent settlement in the province. Immigration attorney Maxime Lapointe reported that some of his clients had received these notifications, causing distress due to the abrupt closure of their files. Lapointe emphasized the need for accountability in this situation. Quebec’s Immigration Ministry is actively reaching out to the affected applicants and has advised them to disregard the closure notices for the time being.
