Raheem Sterling, a courageous individual, faced armed burglars wielding a knife as they invaded his residence while his family was present. The retired 30-year-old footballer, who was preparing to watch the Chelsea versus Wolves match, heard the intruders upstairs. Approximately five masked burglars entered his Berkshire home.
Responding instinctively, Sterling ensured the safety of his partner and children before confronting the intruders, who ultimately fled empty-handed. A source revealed that Sterling grabbed a knife from the kitchen to confront the masked individuals who were searching for valuables.
The break-in occurred around 6:30-7:00 pm, just an hour before the Chelsea game. The police speculated that the burglars assumed Sterling would be at the match.
This incident marks the third time Sterling has been targeted in seven years, following previous break-ins in Surrey and Cheshire. Sterling’s spokesperson confirmed the break-in, emphasizing the importance of respecting the privacy of Sterling and his family during this challenging time.
Thames Valley Police are actively investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. Chelsea has extended support to Sterling in light of the incident.
In a separate incident during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Sterling’s Cobham home was raided, resulting in the theft of valuable items. Emiliano Krosi was convicted of numerous burglary charges related to the incident. Sterling, concerned for his family’s safety, returned home from the World Cup.
Furthermore, in 2018, thieves targeted Sterling’s previous residence in Goostrey, Cheshire, but fled when the alarm system was triggered.
