Tributes are flowing in for a young woman described as a “beautiful soul” who tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident in Ireland over the weekend. Chloe Hipson, a 21-year-old from Lanarkshire in Scotland, was one of five individuals who perished when the Volkswagen Golf they were traveling in collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser near Dundalk on Saturday night.
Among the victims were Chloe McGee, Shay Duffy, Alan McCluskey, and Dylan Commins. A sixth person from the Golf, also in their 20s, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical care in the hospital. The group was en route to Dundalk for a night out, according to police.
Chloe, from Bellshill, is being mourned by many, including North Motherwell FC, where her brother Ryan Hipson is a veteran player. The football club announced plans for a minute of silence in Chloe’s memory. Online tributes described Chloe as a “lovely girl” and a “beautiful soul,” with many expressing shock and sadness over her untimely passing.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with ongoing inquiries. Garda Superintendent Charlie Armstrong extended condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the profound impact the tragedy has had on the communities involved. He urged anyone with information about the collision to come forward and assist the investigation team at Dundalk Garda Station.
