“Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Ties the Knot in France”

Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to music industry executive Allison Hsu, as reported by U.S. media outlets. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend in France, with TMZ and People magazine being the first to cover the news.

The duo publicly announced their engagement on social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025, after officially dating since late 2022. Allison Hsu has shared glimpses of their wedding-related activities in Mexico and a summer visit to Paris with Liu.

Liu and Hsu have been transparent about their relationship, frequently posting about each other on social media. In an interview with People magazine in 2023, Liu expressed his feelings about their bond, emphasizing mutual support and care.

Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Chinese superhero has propelled him to global fame, following his success in the acclaimed CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he portrayed Jung Kim.

In a bid to address the lack of Asian representation in leading roles, Liu called out the traditional and conservative mindset prevalent in Hollywood decision-making circles. Apart from his Marvel role, Liu has been involved in various projects, such as featuring in the popular film “Barbie” as Ken, lending his voice to the animated movie “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the espionage series “The Copenhagen Test.” He also ventured back to his theatrical roots with a performance in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” on Broadway earlier this year.
