“Sky Unveils Enhanced Formula 1 Viewing Experience”

The Formula 1 season kicked off with George Russell clinching victory in Melbourne. Fans can look forward to following the action across various locations worldwide throughout 2026. Sky has exciting news for its customers, as it has revealed a significant TV upgrade tailored to enhance the live sports viewing experience.

The upcoming update will bring a fresh interactive dimension for viewers, featuring a smart sidebar that will appear during race weekends. This sidebar will offer tools like Race Control and Recap, allowing fans to swiftly revisit thrilling overtakes and pivotal moments. Additionally, viewers can easily track live in-race standings through this feature.

In addition to increased interactivity during races, the update will introduce specialized driver and team pages. These pages will grant fans access to onboard cameras, enriched race data, explanatory content, and improved navigation on the homepage.

The enhanced features will be accessible at no extra cost to Sky Sports subscribers using Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices. Although an exact launch date has not been confirmed yet, the update is anticipated to roll out later in the season for existing Sky Sports subscribers.

Sky has shared that fans can anticipate more flexibility and choice in their viewing experience during race weekends with the new immersive sidebar for TV, as part of the 2026 enhancements.

Apart from the Formula 1 upgrade, Sky has unveiled a new Ultimate TV subscription plan bundling major streaming services at a discounted monthly rate of £24. This package will include access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, launching in the UK next month. Sky highlights the value of the bundle, consolidating approximately £20 worth of streaming services in one convenient place.

Key inclusions of the £24 Ultimate TV plan consist of Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads (from March), HBO Max Basic with Ads (from March 26), Hayu (from July, with selected shows available from March), and over 130 Sky channels.
