“St. John’s Streakers Take on 20th Cape to Cabot Challenge”

A 20-kilometer race begins and ends at two popular spots in St. John’s. The runners kick off from Cape Spear and wrap up at Signal Hill, tackling a challenging course with four significant ascents and steep inclines.

A dedicated group of runners, known as the Streakers, have participated in every Cape to Cabot event, with the upcoming race marking the 20th edition. Regina Coady and her spouse, Alf Power, are proud members of the Streakers. Coady initially found the course daunting but embraced the challenge, leading her to return for subsequent races.

Reflecting on the milestone, Power humorously remarked, “I was a lot younger then.” Kenny Scott, another committed Streaker, took up running many years ago after quitting smoking and eagerly anticipates completing his 20th race.

Discover firsthand accounts of the race’s highs and lows, along with the exhilaration of crossing the finish line, in the accompanying video.
