Canadian swimmer Taylor Ruck has been excelling at the Pan Pacific Championships this week. The 26-year-old athlete, hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, clinched a silver medal in the women’s 100-meter butterfly event in Irvine, California. Ruck set a new personal best time of 56.71 seconds, coming in second to American swimmer Gretchen Walsh, who finished in 55.15 seconds. Australian competitor Alexandria Perkins secured the bronze with a time of 56.75 seconds.
Earlier in the week, Ruck initiated Canada’s medal tally by securing third place in the women’s 50m butterfly final. Later that same day, she contributed to the Canadian women’s 4x100m medley relay team’s success by earning a bronze medal.
