Teen’s Lung Removed After 3 Years of Vaping

New disturbing images reveal the damaged lungs of a teenage vape user after just three years of addiction. LeeRay King, who started using disposable vapes at 14, hid his addiction for over a year. Consuming four disposable vapes weekly, he experienced a collapsed left lung last August, leading to multiple surgeries due to vaping-related tissue damage. A photograph displays the removed lung pieces, prompting LeeRay and his family to raise awareness about vaping risks.

LeeRay, residing near Wellington, New Zealand, confessed to succumbing to peer pressure, becoming hooked on vaping within a week. Hospitalized for a pneumothorax, an air leak causing lung collapse, LeeRay underwent surgeries to stabilize the lung-wall connection, remove damaged tissues, and address the collapsed lung.

His mother, Kylee, shared the emotional turmoil of witnessing her son’s suffering and the shocking lung removal. They plan to bury the lung piece as a symbolic gesture. LeeRay now advocates against vaping, aiming to prevent others from enduring similar health complications. His public speaking engagements, like at a local school, emphasize the importance of avoiding vaping to safeguard health and well-being.
