Heartbreaking new revelations have surfaced regarding the demise of a devoted Disney enthusiast, as witnesses recount the chilling moment they were startled by a loud noise at the resort.
Summer Equitz, a 31-year-old woman, tragically took her own life after traveling solo from Illinois to Disney World Florida, without her family. She leaped from a 12th-floor balcony at the Contemporary Resort on October 14, in full view of guests and staff.
A married couple staying at the hotel recalled the harrowing sight of Summer landing just 30 feet away from them on the fourth-floor observation deck. An incident report by an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy, obtained from local media, detailed how they heard a loud noise and saw the woman lying on the ground nearby.
One of the witnesses approached the motionless figure to check for signs of life but found none, as stated in the report. Meanwhile, a hotel employee, who had been on the 15th-floor observation deck with a colleague, reached the 12th floor to discover a blue tote bag left against the rail guard where Summer had jumped from, according to The New York Post.
Summer’s LinkedIn profile indicated her past employment as a character performer and entertainment host at Disneyland Anaheim from 2012 to 2015. She had recently celebrated her honeymoon with Nicholas Danlovich at Walt Disney World, and a photo she shared showed her with Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, captioned as “My life has peaked.”
Tragically, just 10 months prior to her death, Summer had joyfully revealed her pregnancy and posted an ultrasound image. The Sun reported that she had shared a picture of herself and her husband holding the baby scan in their kitchen shortly after their Disney honeymoon in Orlando, where she would later meet her tragic end.
This unfortunate incident occurred shortly after a visitor to Disneyland in California passed away after riding the Haunted Mansion ride. A woman in her 60s was found unresponsive after completing the attraction on October 6, with efforts to revive her proving unsuccessful.
“Disneyland security personnel administered CPR until paramedics arrived,” the official statement noted. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced deceased.
