The World Sikh Organization of Canada reported that a “violent incident” occurred at the Nanaksar Gurdwara temple in northeast Edmonton on Friday morning, resulting in injuries to two individuals. According to the organization, an intruder entered the Gurdwara early in the morning and assaulted people inside. Two individuals were subsequently hospitalized due to their injuries. The organization also mentioned that there were allegations of an attack on the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, a Sikh scripture, during the same event. Police are present at the scene, and the Gurdwara has been shut to the public as investigations are ongoing. The Edmonton police have not provided any specific information about the incident yet, although CBC News journalists are on-site witnessing the presence of officers in the vicinity.
