“Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Cleared to Play Against Yankees”

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the star player for the Toronto Blue Jays, has been cleared to play after being on the injured list for seven days. He will join the team for their game against the New York Yankees on Saturday.

Guerrero sustained an injury during a game against the Yankees in Toronto last week. The incident occurred in the sixth inning when he collided with New York’s rookie shortstop, George Lombard Jr., while sliding into third base. Lombard’s knee and thigh made contact with Guerrero’s head, causing his helmet to come off. Despite the injury, Guerrero managed to score a crucial run before leaving the game.

Following his recovery, Guerrero returned to the team on Friday after passing all necessary concussion tests. He also participated in a minor league rehabilitation game for single-A Dunedin, where he hit a double and underwent batting practice.

For Saturday’s game against the Yankees, Guerrero was slated to bat second in the lineup. This decision came after the Blue Jays suffered a 3-1 defeat in the series opener on Friday. As part of the roster adjustment, infielder/outfielder Davis Schneider was sent down to triple-A Buffalo.

Guerrero has been a key player for the Blue Jays this season, boasting a batting average of .263 with seven home runs and 46 runs batted in. Prior to his injury, he was on a hot streak, hitting .310 in his last seven games.
