After experiencing several days of interruptions, flights will recommence at Wabush Airport on Wednesday, as confirmed by PAL Airlines. The disruption was caused by the airport’s failure to meet federal firefighting and rescue requirements for commercial flights carrying over 19 passengers due to a mechanical issue with a vehicle.
PAL Airlines, the carrier operating flights to and from Labrador’s west airport, announced via social media that the necessary firefighting equipment for passenger flights has been reinstated. Scheduled flights 921, 922, 833, and 834 to and from the airport are set to resume on Wednesday.
