The current mayor of Windsor has declared his intention to run for a fourth consecutive term. Drew Dilkens made this announcement during a press briefing on Thursday, stating his plan to officially submit his candidacy before the 2 p.m. deadline on Friday. Dilkens, who initially became Windsor’s mayor in 2014 following two terms as Ward 1 councillor, is now seeking re-election.
As of Thursday afternoon, there are eight additional contenders vying for the position of Windsor mayor, with current Ward 1 councillor Fred Francis among them. The municipal election is scheduled for October 26.
