Woman Uses Forehead to Rebuild Nose After Dog Attack

A woman who had her nose bitten off by a dog has shared her journey of rebuilding her face using her forehead to reconstruct a new nose. Jordan Wilson, 29, was attacked by a friend’s Boerboel three-and-a-half years ago, resulting in the complete loss of her nose. Despite enduring 16 surgeries to restore her facial features, Jordan struggled with self-confidence and public appearances following the traumatic incident.

Reflecting on the life-altering event, Jordan expressed a shift in her perspective on beauty and life’s priorities. While acknowledging the ongoing challenges, she has received positive feedback from loved ones, noting a gradual return to her former self. The attack occurred during a visit to her brother-in-law’s home, where the dog unexpectedly turned aggressive, causing severe injuries to Jordan.

Although the police classified the dog as dangerous, they did not mandate euthanasia. Instead, the owner faced penalties, including displaying a warning sign about the dog’s behavior. Jordan, who remains conflicted about the dog’s fate, believes the attack was not premeditated but a result of the animal’s size and strength.

Following multiple surgeries, including forehead flap procedures and skin grafts, Jordan has regained sensation in her reconstructed nose. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, she maintains a positive outlook, focusing on further refining her nose through upcoming surgeries. Jordan continues to advocate for animal awareness and shares her story online to support others coping with similar traumas.

Despite her ordeal, Jordan remains fond of animals but exercises caution, especially around her children. By turning her experience into a platform for education and inspiration, she aims to provide solace to those navigating facial trauma and foster a sense of community among survivors.
