“70-Year-Old Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on P.E.I.”

A man aged 70 from Prince County has passed away after a collision involving two vehicles occurred to the west of Miscouche, P.E.I., as per details shared by the RCMP in a news bulletin released on Wednesday morning. The East Prince RCMP were called to the scene on Route 2 around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday. The authorities disclosed that the 911 alert was triggered by the crash detection system of a mobile phone inside one of the vehicles. The deceased individual, a 70-year-old male, was driving alone in one of the vehicles and was declared dead at the crash site. Meanwhile, two elderly occupants in the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. Law enforcement officials have ruled out the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident, with the investigation into the cause of the collision still ongoing. Island EMS and the Miscouche Fire Department were also present at the scene, while an RCMP collision reconstruction expert and the Coroner’s Office were brought in to support the investigation.
