“Wetherspoons’ New Spanish Pub Commands Higher Prices”

Punters who visit Wetherspoons’ newly opened pub in Spain may find themselves paying higher prices compared to their home country. Although the menu offers decent value overall, the prices are generally elevated compared to the chain’s regular high street locations. The company explains that operating pubs in airport locations comes with higher costs, justifying the pricing strategy at the Spanish pub, which aligns with their existing airport and railway station sites in the UK.

For example, a large breakfast at the Spanish pub costs 10.25 euros (£8.84), while the same meal averages £5.09 in the UK. To assess the price differences, a comparison was made between prices at the Alicante pub and those at Wetherspoons’ Solihull pub in the West Midlands and Gatwick Airport. It’s worth noting that some items may vary in size and ingredients, adding complexity to the comparison.

Some items available for comparison include a Margherita pizza, an All day brunch, a Classic burger, Chicken, eggs, and beans, a Pint of Stella Artois, Asahi beer, a Pint of Greene King Abbot Ale, Guinness 0.0, and Coca Cola/Pepsi (398ml).
