“Tesco to Extend Clubcard to Under-18s”

Tesco is actively considering a significant adjustment to its Clubcard program. The Clubcard scheme offers discounts on selected items in stores and enables shoppers to accumulate points for supermarket vouchers. Currently, the loyalty program is exclusive to individuals over 18 years old, a policy criticized by Which? as unfair to younger customers. A spokesperson for Tesco stated, “We are actively reviewing Tesco Clubcard with the intention of making Clubcard available to under-18s this year.” Which? Retail Editor, Reena Sewraz, emphasized the importance of access to Clubcard for individuals managing their expenses, citing the significant savings it offers.

Tesco customers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on groceries in-store or online, or for every two liters of fuel purchased at Tesco petrol stations. The move to expand Clubcard benefits to a younger demographic has been welcomed as a positive step forward by consumer advocates.
