Two individuals have confessed to the abduction of a 10-month-old infant in the Blackpool area. Michael Wellings, aged 50, and Lisa Green, aged 52, were apprehended within an hour of law enforcement responding to an incident on Carlyle Avenue at 10:17 a.m. on August 19, 2022. The baby was safely reunited with her family. Wellings and Green were later formally charged and admitted their guilt during a court appearance at Preston Crown Court on October 16. Lancashire Constabulary confirmed the arrests in a statement, stating that the suspects were swiftly apprehended, the child was safely rescued, and both defendants were charged with kidnapping. The duo pleaded guilty to a single count of abduction during their court hearing and will await sentencing after the conclusion of other legal matters.
