By shortly after midday, the police confirmed the completion of the operation and lifted the lockdowns at the nearby schools. A spokesperson for New South Wales Police stated, “A police operation at Beaumont Hills has concluded. Around 10:24 am today, police responded to Guardian Avenue following reports of an individual carrying firearms along the footpath.”
The spokesperson continued, “After a thorough search of the area and subsequent inquiries, it was determined that the firearms were toy replicas collected during a local cleanup. Several nearby schools were temporarily locked down as a precautionary measure. These lockdowns have now been lifted. We take all reports seriously and appreciate the community’s cooperation.”
