Three individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents in Quebec overnight. The first incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Route 132 East near Chemin Mistral in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse. According to a statement from Sûreté du Québec, emergency responders were summoned to the location where a vehicle had veered off the road. The driver, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant, seemed to have lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was temporarily closed but reopened around 4:45 a.m.
Later, at approximately 3:20 a.m., another single-vehicle crash took place on Route 138 near Franquelin. The SQ reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, carrying four individuals, under unclear circumstances. One occupant died at the hospital, while the other three are in critical condition. Two lanes in the vicinity of the accident site were closed in the morning.
The third accident was reported at 6 a.m. on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. The vehicle, traveling eastbound, veered out of its lane, rolled multiple times, and resulted in serious injuries to a man and a woman in their 30s. Tragically, the 37-year-old woman passed away at the hospital, while the man remains in critical condition.
These incidents have raised concerns about road safety in Quebec, prompting authorities to remind drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic regulations diligently.
