RCMP officers in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have pressed charges against an individual for three firearm-related offenses following local reports of gunfire over the past weekend. In a press statement released on Thursday, RCMP detailed that on August 9 at approximately 8:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to notifications of gunshots and observed a man carrying a firearm inside a dwelling near 68th Street. Subsequently, the suspect was taken into custody by officers later that morning. The charges leveled against him include willfully and recklessly discharging a firearm, improper storage of a loaded firearm, and negligent handling of a firearm. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 17.
