A traffic accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Newfoundland’s western region has led to the closure of both traffic lanes, prompting police to advise drivers to steer clear of the area. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced on Thursday afternoon that they had responded to a crash approximately six kilometers west of the Flat Bay Junction, near the community of Flat Bay and Route 403 in the Bay St. George area. Authorities stated that there are no alternative routes available and urged motorists to anticipate delays, reduce speed, and adhere to instructions from traffic control personnel. Initially, one lane was shut down, with a caution that the second lane might also be closed as emergency teams arrive and carry out investigations. The police assured that further updates would be shared as soon as possible.
