“Ottawa Police Investigate Fatal Femicide Incident”

Ottawa police are currently looking into the case of a woman whose body was discovered in a residence in Lowertown over the weekend as a femicide incident. The 27-year-old woman’s remains were found following a request for assistance from Sûreté du Québec, who were investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident earlier that same day.

The incident occurred when a 34-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and collided with a guardrail before crashing into a concrete wall on Highway 50 near Papineauville, Quebec, resulting in his death after being taken to the hospital. The man’s injuries were deemed suspicious by the Quebec provincial police, leading them to seek support from Ottawa authorities.

The woman’s body was located by Ottawa police officers inside a residence on Gigues Avenue around 11 a.m. No specific details have been provided regarding the potential connection between the two deaths.

In an update on Monday, Ottawa police stated that the investigation is still in progress, with investigators collecting evidence and interviewing possible witnesses. They have assured the public that there is no imminent threat to public safety.
