Danish PM Frederiksen Frustrated by Unsolicited Beauty Advice

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed frustration over receiving unsolicited beauty advice. Frederiksen, aged 48, shared on Instagram that upon returning from Ukraine, where she faced air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, she received a message from a plastic surgeon offering to alter a feature on her nose. She highlighted receiving numerous messages critiquing her appearance over the years, focusing on her teeth, hair, nose, and even suggestions for Botox injections.

Frederiksen uploaded a screenshot of the plastic surgeon’s proposal without disclosing the sender and responded by stating her satisfaction with her body, asserting that she does not need a male plastic surgeon’s opinion on it. As the second female prime minister of Denmark, serving her third term, Frederiksen is among Europe’s most experienced leaders, having led the country since mid-2019.

She reiterated her firm stance against U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland and her support for Ukraine amidst Russia’s aggressive actions. Frederiksen emphasized on Instagram that she respects others’ appearances and encouraged meaningful conversations rather than focusing on her physical attributes.

The prime minister expressed feeling indignant about the unsolicited beauty tips she receives and conveyed empathy towards those dealing with societal pressures of perfection. She urged individuals to engage in conversations of substance rather than commenting on superficial aspects like her appearance.
