In Etobicoke in 2022, a third individual has been taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two men and the injury of a woman. The arrested man, hailing from Mississauga, was apprehended by Windsor police over the weekend, as announced by Toronto police in a press release on Tuesday.
He has been accused of two counts of second-degree murder in relation to the passing of Minyali Wur, aged 24, and Chudier Reat, aged 20, both residents of Mississauga, on January 3, 2022. Additionally, he faces a charge of attempted murder and was scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Tuesday.
The tragic event unfolded in the vicinity of Lake Shore Boulevard W. and Thirtieth Street, where law enforcement responded to a call around 8:45 p.m. Two men were found with gunshot wounds, and a woman nearby was injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the men succumbed to their injuries, while the woman sustained non-life-threatening harm.
According to police, the first suspect, a man from Brampton, turned himself in on July 1, 2022, and was accused of being an accessory after the murder. The second suspect, a resident of Peel Region, was apprehended on January 8, 2025, with the assistance of Windsor police and Toronto police’s emergency task force. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, and possession of a firearm in violation of an order.
Authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
