“BC Coroners Investigate Fatal Plane Incident in Mission”

The B.C. Coroners Service is currently looking into a fatality linked to a plane incident near Mission that occurred on Wednesday night. Canada’s Transportation Safety Board has launched an inquiry into a small aircraft mishap as well.

Responding to a call at 10:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, B.C. Emergency Health Services reported an airplane issue in the 13700 block of Stave Lake Road in Hatzic near Mission. Although primary care paramedics arrived on the scene, no individuals required hospital transportation.

Media inquiries have been redirected to the police by BCEHS. Despite requests for comments, Mission RCMP and B.C. RCMP have not provided any responses.

This event marks the third time this month that TSB investigators have been deployed to B.C. due to aviation-related occurrences. In a separate incident last week, a plane conducted an emergency landing on a Prince George highway, resulting in multiple vehicle impacts and one fatality. Also, a mid-air collision involving two aircraft over Chilliwack, B.C., led to a fatality earlier this month.

TSB’s primary goal is to enhance transportation safety and it refrains from assigning blame in such incidents.
