Provincial Police in Lambton County have located the body of a swimmer who went missing at a beach in Pinery Provincial Park on Wednesday. The individual, identified as a 28-year-old from Scarborough, was found by beach visitors on Thursday. The police initiated the search after receiving a report about the missing swimmer on August 26 at 1 p.m.
The search efforts involved two OPP boats, the underwater search and recovery unit, and OPP aviation services, with assistance from the Anishnabek Police Service. Despite the search operations, the police did not disclose the swimmer’s identity until the discovery was made. There is uncertainty surrounding the delay in notifying the public about the missing individual.
