“Weekend Events: Live Music, Model Trains, Buskers & More!”

Summer may seem to be coming to a close, but there are still numerous events to enjoy this weekend. Live music enthusiasts can catch the Peter Elkas Band at Sonic Hall in Guelph on Friday night, while Saturday night features an Into The Void DJ event at The Boathouse in Kitchener. Maxwell’s Concerts and Events in Waterloo will host a Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe tribute night on Saturday.

For those interested in model trains, the Waterloo Railway Exposition will take place at the Homewood Suites in St. Jacobs on Saturday and Sunday. This event will showcase various model train layouts, along with a market for buying and selling train-related items. In Guelph, the Guelph Yoga and Wellness Festival will be held on Sunday at the Frank Hasenfratz Centre, offering yoga classes, wellness exhibitors, workshops, and health services.

The Waterloo Buskers Carnival, happening throughout the weekend in Uptown Waterloo, is a highlight event with performances by stilt walkers, fire breathers, acrobats, and more. The carnival culminates in a grand finale on Sunday at 4 p.m. Guelph Ribfest at Riverside Park will offer a variety of smoked meats, live music, a classic car show, family activities, and entertainment from the Guelph Storm and Cleo the Clown.

In Wellesley, the Fall Fair with the theme “Field to Feast” will feature a range of activities including horse shows, parades, live music, and fireworks on Saturday night. The Rock and Gem Expo at Stanley Park Community Centre in Kitchener will showcase crystals, gems, jewelry, and allow visitors to crack geodes and sift for gems. Lastly, Innuendo will perform a free concert at Forbes Park in Cambridge on Sunday evening as part of the Cambridge Summer Live series.

These events offer a diverse range of entertainment options for the community to enjoy before summer comes to an end.
