Police in Waterloo are currently investigating a collision that occurred Saturday night involving a pedestrian and the ION light rail train (LRT). The incident took place at around 11:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Dutton Drive. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene following reports of the collision between the LRT and the pedestrian. The location of the incident is near the operation and maintenance storage facility of the ION LRT.
Law enforcement officials found an adult woman at the scene. Despite attempts by police to administer life-saving procedures, the woman was tragically pronounced dead on-site. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
