Following an extensive operation, the suspect, a Swiss man, was taken into custody just before 1 a.m. on Monday on suspicion of perpetrating the attack.
Law enforcement in the canton of Aargau stated that investigations into the incident’s details, background, and potential motives are ongoing. The current belief is that the attack was carried out by a lone individual. Authorities are exploring three potential motives for the shooting: a mass shooting, an act of terrorism, or an undisclosed criminal rationale.
