“Man arrested for DUI after Fogo Island ferry incident”

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) apprehended a man on suspicion of driving under the influence as he disembarked from the Fogo Island ferry on Monday afternoon. A concerned citizen notified the police just after midday, leading to the man being stopped by officers upon exiting the ferry in his vehicle. During the stop, authorities discovered an open bottle of alcohol and illicit tobacco in the man’s possession, indicating signs of intoxication.

Following a failed roadside breathalyzer test, the man was taken into custody for operating a vehicle while impaired. The RCMP mentioned that they are awaiting the results of a blood test from the individual to determine the appropriate charges to be laid.
