“RCMP Seize $34k & Crack in Yellowknife Drug Bust”

Two individuals have faced charges following a police operation by RCMP officers where suspected crack cocaine and more than $34,000 were confiscated from a residence on 52 Avenue in Yellowknife. The N.W.T. RCMP initiated a drug-trafficking probe in August based on public tips regarding the specific apartment. Subsequently, a search warrant for the residence on 52 Avenue was executed by law enforcement on Tuesday. During the operation, two suspects were apprehended without resistance, and authorities seized around 53 grams of suspected crack cocaine in addition to the cash. The accused parties are charged with drug trafficking, drug possession, and possession of illicitly obtained assets exceeding $5,000. One suspect is a 28-year-old individual from Calgary, Alberta, while the other is a 28-year-old from Fort Good Hope, N.W.T. Both suspects have been brought before the court and are currently in custody. The N.W.T. RCMP stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
