“Two Arrested in Hotel Burglary, Stolen Police Gear Recovered”

Police apprehended two individuals in relation to a burglary at a hotel room in Prince Albert, during which an RCMP officer’s gear, including a firearm, Taser, pepper spray, baton, and uniform, were taken. The incident occurred after midnight on Wednesday, and a joint search by city police and RCMP recovered most of the stolen items, except for the pistol.

Following investigations, the Prince Albert city police announced on social media that their crime reduction team identified a suspect and located him at a residence on Second Street East. Due to the perceived risk, the situation was classified as critical, prompting the deployment of specialized resources for a controlled surround-and-call-out operation. The 30-year-old male suspect surrendered without resistance and was arrested, with a subsequent search warrant executed at the residence.

Earlier on the same day, a 42-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the burglary, and he appeared in court on Thursday facing charges of breaking and entering. The 30-year-old suspect appeared in court the next day, charged with breaking and entering and violating a release order.

Police disclosed in a news release that their investigation revealed the involvement of three men and a woman in the break-in. Efforts are ongoing to identify any additional suspects and recover the remaining stolen police equipment. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the authorities at 306-953-4222 or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
