“Swift Current RCMP Seeks Victims of Teen Assault Suspect”

Swift Current RCMP is urging potential victims to come forward following the arrest of a 23-year-old man on charges of sexually assaulting teenage girls. Aniken Edwards faces two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual touching, according to a statement released by the RCMP on Friday. He is currently in custody and is set to appear in provincial court on Monday.

The police disclosed that they had received two reports of sexual assaults involving teenagers in September, which led to Edwards’ apprehension after an investigation. The release emphasized the sensitivity of the information shared to protect the well-being and privacy of the victims, while also mentioning the possibility of additional victims being identified.

Authorities suspect that the accused individual typically befriends individuals younger than himself and frequents locations popular among teenagers. Furthermore, it was revealed that he utilizes Snapchat as a means of communication with teenage girls.

Individuals who suspect they or someone they know may have been victimized, or who possess relevant information, are encouraged to reach out to the RCMP or anonymously contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. The release clarified the definition of sexual assault and reiterated that sexually touching a person under 16 or soliciting a minor to engage in such acts is a criminal offense.

In the event of immediate danger or concerns for safety, individuals are advised to call 911. Support resources, including crisis lines and local services, can be found through the Ending Sexual Violence Association of Canada database.
