Summerside authorities are currently looking into two separate incidents of indecent behavior that share similarities. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, one incident occurred in August 2026, while the other was reported in December 2025.
The first incident involved a 17-year-old who was walking through the County Fair Mall parking lot around 8 a.m. on August 20. A man sitting in a vehicle called her over under the guise of asking for directions. However, upon approaching the vehicle, the man exposed his genitals and requested a sexual act from the girl. She promptly declined, left the scene, and reported the incident to the police.
The circumstances of this investigation mirror those of an incident reported on December 11, 2025, as stated in the release. During that occurrence, a woman had parked her car in the Walmart parking lot when a vehicle pulled up next to her. The driver engaged the woman in conversation, but when she turned towards him, she noticed that he was exposing himself and engaging in lewd behavior.
Authorities have identified a suspect in the December incident, leading to the arrest of a 32-year-old man from the Summerside area. The individual is set to face court proceedings for one count of committing an indecent act. However, the investigation into the August incident is ongoing, with no arrests or charges made thus far.
