“Thunder Bay Medieval Faire at Hymers Fairgrounds Oct 10-11”

The Thunder Bay Medieval Faire is set to begin at the Hymers Fairgrounds, located approximately 40 minutes southwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario, on October 10th and 11th. Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, the two-day event will showcase a diverse range of community demonstrators, live music, food, interactive activities, over 80 artisan vendors, a kids’ area, and more.

Gwen McCrone, a member of the TBMF committee, highlighted the community’s eagerness for such an event, citing the success of last year’s Thunder Bay Renaissance Faire. With this year’s cancellation, the TBMF aims to provide a celebratory and immersive experience for attendees.

The event is expected to draw a significant crowd, with tickets already sold from various regions across Canada and the United States. The picturesque setting of the Hymers Fairgrounds adds to the appeal, complementing the overall atmosphere of the faire.

The Knights of Valour are anticipated to be a major attraction, particularly with their live, full-contact jousting performances. Attendees can also enjoy warhorse rides and a variety of shows and games throughout the weekend.

Members of the jousting troupe, such as Daveed Benhumea and Carlos Doce, expressed their excitement for the event, emphasizing the thrill of the authentic jousting experience and the international camaraderie among participants.
