McDavid Shines as Oilers Beat Sharks 3-1

Connor McDavid tallied his 13th point and 10th assist of the season as the Edmonton Oilers secured a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, marking their fourth consecutive win. Vasily Podkolzin netted his fifth goal, while Mattias Ekholm and Alex Formenton also found the back of the net for Edmonton. Tristan Jarry, the Oilers’ goalkeeper, made 19 saves.

San Jose’s Macklin Celebrini made a comeback to the lineup after missing two games due to a lower-body injury and scored his first goal of the season in the third period. Ekholm initiated the scoring in the first period, followed by Podkolzin extending Edmonton’s lead early in the third period with an assist from McDavid, who surpassed Jack Eichel in points and assists.

Formenton added another goal to make it 3-0 shortly after Podkolzin’s score. Although Celebrini got San Jose on the scoreboard in the third period, the Sharks fell short of completing a comeback. Yaroslav Askarov, the Sharks’ goalie, stopped 17 shots during the game.
