An external inquiry into alleged staff misconduct at a French-language daycare in Yellowknife has concluded, with the daycare reporting that no evidence was found to support the accusations.
Garderie Plein Soleil initiated the investigation following allegations of staff misconduct that surfaced in December, as first disclosed by Cabin Radio. Staff members implicated in the allegations were suspended pending the investigation, with the RCMP also confirming an ongoing criminal investigation.
In a recent press release, Garderie Plein Soleil stated that the investigation revealed “no evidence of harm to children and no wrongdoing by any staff members.” Éloïse Picard, the president of the daycare’s board of directors, emphasized that the safety and well-being of the children under their care have always been and will continue to be their top priorities.
Although an RCMP spokesperson mentioned in August that their investigation was still in progress and no charges had been filed, no further details were provided. The daycare’s release announced that the previously suspended staff members had been cleared to resume work, and operations had returned to normal.
