The Canadian women’s volleyball squad secured a spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics by defeating the Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 25-14) in the final of the NORCECA Continental Qualifier in Santo Domingo. Kiera Van Ryk and Alexa Gray were the top scorers for Canada, each contributing 22 points to the victory. Earlier in the week, Canada clinched its first NORCECA women’s continental championship by going undefeated with a 5-0 record. This marks the team’s first Olympic qualification since finishing tied for ninth place at the Atlanta Games in 1996.
