Fashion retailer Quiz enters administration, leading to 109 job losses

Fashion retailer Quiz has entered administration, resulting in 109 job losses. The redundancies are affecting staff at the company’s head office in Glasgow and warehouse in Lanarkshire. Customers are being informed that online orders not yet shipped will be canceled as the Quiz website has been taken offline.

For those seeking refunds, Quiz is directing customers to contact their bank or credit card provider. Customers who paid over £100 with a credit card may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Those who used a debit card or spent £100 or less on a credit card may explore the option of Chargeback within 120 days of purchase.

Alternatively, customers can exchange unwanted items at physical Quiz stores for products of equal value. The retailer’s online store has ceased operations, and orders placed before February 5, 2026, cannot be returned through the website.

While Quiz stores continue to operate, the company has announced clearance sales across its branches but is no longer accepting gift cards. With 40 stores in the UK and concessions in New Look and Matalan, Quiz’s concessions in New Look and Matalan stores are unaffected by the administration.

In the Republic of Ireland, Quiz has seven concessions included in the administration, employing a total of 565 workers. Established in 1993 in Glasgow, Scotland, by Tarak Ramzan, this marks the retailer’s second administration in a year, following a previous collapse in February 2025.

Joint administrators Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath are overseeing the process. McAlinden stated the intention to continue trading stores while exploring future business options. Jacobs encouraged interested parties to contact them swiftly regarding the acquisition of Quiz’s stock, operations, and infrastructure.

Efforts are being made to support affected employees during this challenging period.
